“A World in Change”

Presented by NDIA with Technical Assistance from the Science & Technology Directorate, Department of Homeland Security

May 21-24, 2007
Ronald Reagan International Trade Center, Washington, DC

The Science & Technology (S&T) Directorate of the Department of Homeland Security will be the key participant in the 2007 Homeland Security Science & Technology Stakeholders Conference, May 21-24, presented by the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) at the Ronald Reagan Center in Washington, DC.  The conference will inform the private sector, academia, and government at all levels, of the direction, emphasis, and scope of research investments by the S&T Directorate to support the Homeland Security mission.  The S&T Directorate is the gateway into DHS for innovative ideas and technologies from the private sector and academia.  The conference will highlight business opportunities in S&T research in the U.S. and around the world.

Key speakers invited to the event include the Deputy Secretary of DHS, the Under Secretary of DHS for Science and Technology, and senior leadership from the key S&T customer organizations within DHS.  Other notable speakers to be invited include Members of Congress, Hill staffers, and leaders from other government, private sector, and academic organizations partnering with S&T in science & technology research. There also will be a significant international component to the event.

Conference attendees will hear from the S&T Directorate’s Directors and Division Heads, who will describe their areas of responsibility, and highlight key deliverables and technologies.  Innovative research initiatives such as the Homeland Innovative Prototypical Solutions (HIPS) and High Impact Technology Solutions (HITS) efforts, and the Homeland Security Advanced Research Projects Agency (HSARPA) will be spotlighted.  The Capstone Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) that align research with S&T customers will be described as well.

A key component of the Conference will be the Innovation Gateway Marketplace, which offers the opportunity for attendees to schedule One-on-One Meetings during the conference for the purpose of presenting an idea, exploring a concept, or asking a question about research and business opportunities. SAFETY Act pre-application consultation will offered by appointment during the event. There also will be an exhibit hall where attendees can see and discuss significant new technologies relevant to the Homeland Security mission.

Who Should Attend?

All parties with an interest in the direction, concepts, programs, and activities related to Homeland Security science & technology research will benefit from this informative conference.
