First Annual DHS University Network
Summit on Research and Education

DHS University Programs will hold its first annual DHS University Network Summit on Research and Education. This conference is open to homeland security officials, professionals, researchers, educators and students, as well as other interested parties in government, academia and industry.

The Summit will include presentations and discussions on the university-based Centers of Excellence research areas including:

  • Risk and Economic Analysis of Terrorism Events
  • Security of Agriculture and the Food System
  • Studies of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism
  • Preparedness and Catastrophic Event Response
  • Information Analysis and Visualization
  • Advances in Microbial Risk Assessment

DHS officials will also be on hand to discuss research and education needs in the key Divisions of the Science and Technology Directorate:

  • Explosives
  • Chemical and Biological
  • Command, Control and Interoperability
  • Borders and Maritime Security
  • Human Factors
  • Infrastructure and Geophysical
